Davinder Singh Natt, son of late Congress leader Sukhraj Singh Natt, was cremated today in his native village (in the Talwandi Sabo constituency). The funeral, which took place after nearly nine days, was attended by several prominent leaders and workers from various political parties, including the Congress. According to reports, Davinder Singh Natt committed suicide by shooting himself with his licensed weapon following a financial dispute with some businessmen from Mohali and Chandigarh. He also left behind a suicide note accusing some of the businessmen of mentally harassing him.
Since the incident, family members and Congress leaders have been demanding the arrest of the accused. Protests have been held over the issue for several days, but no arrests have been made yet. Many senior leaders were present at today’s funeral. On this occasion, the leaders once again demanded that the administration take immediate action against those who forced Davinder Singh Natt to take this extreme step and that the culprits be arrested soon.
