Drug smuggler and accused of attacking police arrested.

District police have arrested a criminal accused of attacking police, committing robbery, and drug trafficking. Police also recovered approximately 15 grams of heroin from the arrested individual at the scene. SSP Amneet Kaundal said that under the guidance of Superintendent of Police (Investigation) Jasmeet Singh Sahiwal, DSP Bhucho Manjit Singh, and the Nehianwala Police Station Chief, the police are conducting a campaign against drug smugglers. As part of this campaign, on August 21st, a police team was traveling from Kothe Inder Singh village to Mahima Sawai village. When the police team reached the bridge at Mahima Sawai village, a young man was seen carrying a light green transparent envelope in the vehicle’s headlights on the right side of the bridge. He tried to escape from the police vehicle, after which ASI Lakhwinder Singh, with the help of his staff, arrested the young man.

Bathinda Police launch anti-drug drive; 13 smugglers arrested in district-wide raids.

As part of the anti-drug campaign, the district police arrested 13 people at various locations and seized 100 grams of opium, 112.75 grams of heroin, and 250 narcotic capsules. Thermal police arrested Tinku alias Babbu, a resident of Janta Nagar, near the railway overbridge on Malout Road with 3.50 grams of heroin. Cantt police station arrested Sagar Singh, a resident of Kotha Baba Lakha Singh, Bhucho Mandi, from the Central Jail parking lot with 68.25 grams of heroin. CIA Staff-2 also arrested a woman named Jyoti from the Beed Talab area with 30 grams of heroin. Nathana police station arrested Harmel Singh, a resident of Kalyan Sukhkha, near the Ganga village bus stand with 90 banned capsules. Bhagta Bhaika police station arrested Tarsem Singh, a resident of Jalal, from Dayalpura village with 100 grams of opium, while a team from the same police station arrested Jaswinder Singh from Hamirgarh village with 100 narcotic capsules.

Police take major action against theft and snatching in Bathinda.

Police have arrested four suspects in separate cases of theft and snatching in the district, while efforts are underway to identify the suspect in one case. Police say further investigation is underway in all cases and that other crimes may be uncovered by interrogating the suspects. n the first case, a daylight theft occurred at the Government Elementary School in Mata Jivinagar. School head teacher Harpal Singh stated in a statement to Thermal police station that computer screens and a sound system were stolen from the school during recess on March 21, 22, and 23. CCTV footage revealed that an unknown person entered the school around 1:30 pm on March 23, stole the items, and fled. Police are working to identify the suspect based on the footage. In another case, Kotwali police arrested two individuals for snatching mobile phones from passersby. Acting on a tip-off, police set up a blockade and apprehended Sanju Kumar, a resident of Maud Mandi, and Inderjit Singh, a resident of Manvi Bibarian village in Mansa district. Investigation revealed that the accused had snatched a mobile phone from a passerby on March 31st and were planning another crime. Both are currently being interrogated.
